It is often preferable to embed a video in a post, rather than uploading the video file to the page. Video files tend to be large and are likely to slow down the page load time (which can have a negative effect on user experience and search engine optimisation). Instead, you can embed a video from a video player such as YouTube or Vimeo, using the WordPress blocks.
- Click on the Block Inserter (+), or type /YouTube in a new paragraph and press enter.
- Copy and paste the url of the YouTube video into the block
- Click embed
